Young musicians from around the world have the chance to compete in a public recital for scholarships. The Recital Competition, organized by the Africa Institute of Music (AIM), allows young musicians, aged between 16 and 21 or enrolled in music schools, to gain valuable performance experience and receive public recognition for their talent.
CATEGORIES
- Classical Music: Solo or chamber ensemble (up to four members).
- Jazz: Solo or band (up to four members).
Entry
• Complete the online entry form at www.africainstituteofmusic.com.
• Submit a YouTube link on the Competition page of the AIM website. Refer to the Video Specifics for the audition video requirements.
• A non-refundable application fee of 50,000 UGX
or US $15
is payable to the Centenary Bank: Acc. No. 3310300039 (Africa Institute of Music). #When making deposit in the bank specify the reason as “Competition“.
DATES AND VENUES
The deadline for entries is 7th February 2025.
All applicants will be notified of the results by 14th February 2025.
The Recital Competition will take place on 14th March 2025, from 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM at the Hall, followed by the Award Ceremony from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM.
All applicants are invited to attend the Recital Competition free of charge, regardless of whether they win. The public can purchase tickets at the Hall’s entrance for 20,000 UGX
PRIZES AND AWARDS
Competitors are expected to meet the standards of the competition.
- 1st Prize Scholarship (1 overall winner): 1.5M UGX & Certificate
- 2nd Prize Scholarship (1 from each category): 1M UGX & Certificate
- 3rd Prize Scholarship (1 from each category): 500K UGX & Certificate
- Most Popular Prize (1 overall winner): 300K UGX & Certificate
- All Participants in the Recital: Performance reports and Certificates
